The abstract world of words

We think, We write, We communicate with ourselves and with others with words, but…What is a word?... A combination of letters, but that, by itself means nothing. What makes them so wonderful is the meaning we give them …What I like about them, is that they belong to the abstract world of ideas…You can not touch a word, you can touch the paper where it is written, you can see it, hear it, but you can not touch it…that’s what makes them abstract…The most amazing thing about them is that even when they are something conceptual they can make you cry or laugh…It is something abstract like love, something that makes you feel….The weirdest thing is that they are something you can not touch, however they make you experience a series of different emotions…and this is what I like to most about writing…There are millions of words, millions of different meanings…A simple combination of 4 letters can produce in your mind a revolution of ideas that will lead to a feeling “LOVE”….a few words put together might take you to tears: “At the end, She found him dead, that was when She realized that her world must come to an end, as She wouldn´t be able to survive without him and knowing that she was the reason of his death….”
What I love the most about writing is what I just mentioned. I can touch my book, but that’s what I’m touching, the cover and the paper with letters printed with black ink…I can open it and read the words, read them, but never touch them….and even when there’s just 300 pages, in my mind, while I read those words, I can create a new world and have feelings produced by the abstract world; The world of ideas, of imagination, the world of the non-existent becoming real, the world of words….
I love that with words you can create parallel worlds, you can make people feel what the abstract character is feeling, you can take him to tears or make him rejoice…There’s people that find confront and relieve themselves with words…You can take your mind and feelings way beyond the universe and create an intangible life worth telling and all that, just with different combinations of 27 letters….
