A vampiric heartache- New Moon

I finished reading “New moon” yesterday. The following story to Twilight. It is a little bit longer than twilight, but anyway It doesn’t feel as a long book, because every chapter keeps your attention wondering What is going to happen next. It doesn’t feel like another story. I felt like I was still reading Twilight.

Different from Twilight in this story, The writer introduced the Lycans or were wolfs ( as You wish to call them) Who obviously are the opposite to the vampires. They can co-exist but they hate each other. Bella is in love with a Vampire and now she is about to discover that one of her best friends is a lycan. The love story between Edward and Bella stills gets you…It keeps me on wishing to find somebody that loves me like Bella loves Edward and to love someone like Edward loves Bella….What do you do when you want to keep safe the one you love? I’m sure You’d anything to keep that special person safe…But What if the only way to keep that person safe is to disappear from her life? To pretend you never met her and that you never existed in her life? Will you do it?....

Would Juliet had lived without Romeo? Would She had married with somebody else knowing that she would never forget Romeo?...No…That’s Why she killed herself when She saw Romeo was dead….And Romeo actually killed himself when He thought Juliet was dead…When you find that special person who can only be one and one only…You will never forget her…
"Shoot," I muttered when the paper sliced my finger; I pulled it out to examine the damage. A single drop of blood oozed from the tiny cut. It all happened very quickly then. Edward threw himself at me, flinging me back across the table... I tumbled down to the floor by the piano, with my arms thrown out instinctively to catch my fall, into the jagged shards of glass. I felt the searing, stinging pain that ran from my wrist to the crease inside my elbow. Dazed and disoriented, I looked up from the bright red blood pulsing out of my arm—into the fevered eyes of the six suddenly ravenous vampires. **** For Bella Swan, there is one thing more important than life itself: Edward Cullen. But being in love with a vampire is even more dangerous than Bella could ever have imagined. Edward has already rescued Bella from the clutches of one evil vampire, but now, as their daring relationship threatens all that is near and dear to them, they realize their troubles may be just beginning... Legions of readers entranced by the New York Times bestseller Twilight are hungry for the continuing story of star-crossed lovers, Bella and Edward. In New Moon, Stephenie Meyer delivers another irresistible combination of romance and suspense with a supernatural twist. Passionate, riveting, and full of surprising twists and turns, this vampire love saga is well on its way to literary immortality.

Happy Birthday to me!

Well…I’m 22 years old now. That’s 2 decades and two years of life. It might read as too little time, but it is one quarter of the normal expectancy of life. By now a lot of people that age have kids, are married, own an enterprise, run a firm, well…by now a lot of people have accomplished a lot and I think that’s why I think my birthday is somehow depressing….I always think “One more year…and What have I done?” There are somethings I’m very proud of, like my books ( Not that proud as other people would be, but I’m kind of proud) I think life should be measure in years. Is ok to count them to keep track of time and have a official date to celebrate your arrival to this scary place called Earth…But I rather measure live in smiles, in moments of joy, tears, accomplishments…
I had to admit I had a lot of fun at my Birthday party, but there was nothing special at my actual birthday It was just another day...Well…Almost like a regular day, my parents took me to have lunch to an italian Restaurant and my mom took my to have breakfast to my favorite place...Besides that I was a normal day, phone calls, text messages, and tons of post in that thing that reminds you birthdays “Facebook” ( I love it…Or I would forget a lot of birthday, except for the people that is really close to me) Well…may be I just have the wrong idea that Birthday are supposed to be somehow special and well this certainly wasn’t…I think my best birthday to date was When I turned 21! That was last year when I was in Disney...That was a really fun Birthday! I won’t ever forget this birthday party, It was really fun times are you turning 22 again? I said: Next year I’ll turn 22 again…
Well…when Are u turning 22 again in Mexico?
Well…Never I answered. But I guess She just meant for my party, but on my actual birthday she wasn’t with me today…But well…

I’ve made a lot of pauses while writing this, I made my mind that Birthdays are just another day to remind you You are getting old…Big celebrations happen from time to time, sometimes you organize them and is a kind of obligation for people to remember your birthday and some other celebrations are made by very good friends who take the time to visit or hang out with you…I realized this birthday that the time has come where my friends and people I know are really busy working…But well..I’m sure There’ll be more nice birthdays than my actual birthday haha…

I think what I just wrote doesn’t make any sense..But anyway I posted it...

Guess What?

First of all, I would like to apologize for the lack of updates this week. I have been very busy. I’m turning 21 years old for the second time next week and I’ve been planning a party and buying the things for it.

Guess what? What could be the greatest gift for this birthday besides Britney’s new single?.... Well..I got accepted for the Master of the Fine Arts in Film making at the New York Film Academy. At least my future is not that blurry anymore… It is, will always be. But now I know when I’m leaving to the US and what I’m actually studying there.

1st Chapter from Joe and the Black Dragon Legend

again, Thnx to Donna Lansing for the correction.

So it begins...

There were two young men. One tough, one gentle. and both were half Wizard. One half Niwan, one half Malgien. Both were trained by the most powerful and wise Wizard of the Magical Word. Zcardus. One was Cankul. One was Joerend. And even when both learned the same and acquired equal abilities, one day Cankul left. And no one, not even when her mother died, knew what happened with him.

Years passed and Joerend became one of the strongest and most powerful Wizards along with Zcardus. Until one not very special year, Cankul reappeared with a new name. Dominant over them all Kukulcan (which meant Serpent Man in Niwan tongue). Not only his physic but his mind had changed too. Contrary to everybody’s ideas, his were mean. He believed in the awakening of Eviles and even thought he didn’t know how to achieve it, he was determined to do it. And this changed completely the Magical World.
He started gathering followers. If someone dared to intervene. Kukulcan killed the unfortunate immediately . He ruled over the Trolls, the Fawcets and the Boogerers, mean creatures of the Magical World. And he enslaved the Morphins in order to build a hut, a castle and a temple. They worked hard for him. The castle was built way inside the magic forest. The hut in a dark community on the east of the Magical World. The temple was built too, but it was never finished. Why did he built a hut a castle and a temple? The reason is still unknown.

After searching it thoroughly Kukulcan finally found Daed Island where Hades and Atenea rested. However he knew he wouldn’t be able to find the temple of the gods, where the other five rested. Unless he found first a special book which dated from time remote. A book that told the true story of the Magical World. The Popol–Vuh.

–Well, Joerend. The future of the magical world depends on you– Zcardus, an slim old man with ashy long hair, told him. They were in a very antique room inside Zcardus’ castle.
–But if he doesn’t find the temple of the Gods first, he would never be able to bring back the Eviles– Joerend answered. His curly hair was up to the shoulder, he was six feet tall and kind of tough.
–Unless we do something fast, he will. He had already destroyed Blissphilum and he’ll be here soon if you don’t prevent it–
–He did?– asked Joerend, amazed.
–He almost did, remember that perfect city can’t be destroyed. Not by a common simple wizard, at least– the old man answered.
–But I…I don’t know what to do– He said puzzled.
–Use your knowledge. You more than anyone else know him well–
–I used to. Now he is a monster
–Even the biggest and most powerful monster has, at least, one weakness
–Zcardus…–
–Yes, Joerend?
–I’m afraid
–Fear, boy, is the uncertainty to the unknown and after all is nothing but a feeling
answered Zcardus.
–Then, I’m afraid of what will happen..–
–You are afraid of what will happen if you fail!– A voice coming from nowhere was heard.
–Who said that?– asked Joerend, scared, turning his head to each corner of the room.
–This is and old castle. You shouldn’t’ mind voices you don’t know where they come from– told Zcardus to him, standing up from the couch and walking towards Joerend.
–But the voice is right…I am afraid of what will happen if I fail
–The future is uncertain, Joerend. But sometimes it’s in you the possibility to change it for better of for worse. Just be sure of your deeds and trust that it will be the right thing for everyone– told him Zcardus, placing his bony hand over Joerend’s shoulder.
–Still... I’m afraid– added Joerend turning around to face his mentor.

Zcardus closed his eyes and keep them shut for a while. In his mind he saw Kukulcan approaching to White City. He opened his eyes quickly and told Joerend:
–Here he comes, go, GO NOW!–
–Bu…bu…b…– stuttered Joerend.
–There’s time for nothing. Go now! Wait for him at the Coliseum.
–But what about you?– he asked while Zcardus pushed him out of he room. Taking him trough a secret magically opened passage.
–I’ll be safe here
–He knows you are the most powerful wizard that has ever existed. Surely he’ll kill you
–I will never abandon the castle. I swear –He rose one hand over Joerend’s head and told him: May the magic protect you– At last he pushed him and close the secret passage.

The secret passage was cold and dark, Joerend’s breath could be seen. He took his wand out of his pocket and whispered Lux. The tip of his wand lighted. Revealing Joerend a never–ending tunnel. Rocks, rats, and corpses were scattered all over the place. He walked slowly, thinking about what he had been told by Zcardus. The voice was right, he was afraid of what could happen if he failed. Joerend found himself unwilling to reach the end of the corridor. He didn’t want to know how will everything end up. He walked slowly. Feeling cold and doubtful.
Finally, he glimpsed a ray of light at the end of the tunnel. He walked faster. Decided to face his future. He knew that as soon as he came out of the tunnel, he would face his truth. A thruth which couldn’t be changed by anyone but him.
At the end his destiny awaited. He walked, decided, moving aside the stone that covered the exit and the first thing his eyes saw was the Coliseum in ruins. He hoped that only the Coliseum was destroyed. He jumped and raised to the sky. From above he realized the entire White City was completely destroyed. Seeing this, he felt his blood boiling inside and yelled: KUKULCAN!– His voice echoed trough the sky.
Not far from him there was an explosion from which appeared Kukulcan.
–Did you call me?– he asked with a cool sharp voice.
–Why have you done this?–
–It was necessary. I offer my most sincere apologies.– he answered sarcastically.
–This people were innocent and you…you killed them– added Joerend feeling angrier.
–Well, they seemed reluctant to surrender. It was necessary to kill them–
–Did you kill them all?–
–Yes, all of them. Not even a single survivor–

Joerend was furious. He rose his wand, pointed it a him, and yelled:
–DOLORUS!– From the tip of his wand a red sparkle sprouted towards Kukulcan.
–Hahaha…is this what that jerk of Zcardus taught you?–He told him between laughter. Joerend snarled, he aimed his wand at Kukulcan and yelled:
–ABRA CADABRA– Kukulcan was shot and fell to the floor. However he stood up without a single scratch and told him:
–You will need much more than in order to defeat me
–HOCUS!– Kukulcan shouted.

Joerend flew trough the air and collided with a destroyed wall of the coliseum.
–My dear fellow and friend, Joerend. Consider this for a moment. We would wake up the Eviles and force them to obey us. We could rule Fantasia. We could control the Magical World. Fire, Earth, Water and Air would be under our command. We would be feared and obeyed. Then the universe will be ours. The most powerful beings over the universe. You and Me. Together. So what’s your choice? Power or death?.–
–I’ll rather die a thousand deaths than join you– he answered rising from the dust.
–Ha. Stupid! Naive! You talk nonsense!. But if that’s your choice. Let it be then. Kanah, Kanah– called Kukulcan.
Trough a destroyed door of the coliseum a huge, black and red stripped serpent appeared. Joerend stood up, release his wand letting it fall to the floor and closed his eyes firmly.
–If you tell me where’s The Mystic Eye you will have a quick painless death. Otherwise you will suffer a slow painful death…am I right, Kanah?– The serpent hissed.
Joerend didn’t answered, not even single thought crossed his head.
–I searched for it in Zcardus’ Castle after I killed him, yet I couldn’t find it. You must know where it is. What’s your choice? The slow–painful or the quick painless–death. One…two…–Kukulcan started counting.
–WAIT!!!!!! I’ll tell you– said Joerend opening his eyes.
–OH! I see you are willing to help…that’s smart–
–ANGELAXUS!!– yelled Joerend extending his arms and the palms of his hands to the front. A mass of blue rays surrounded Kukulcan exploiting afterwards. From it emerged the ghost of Kukulcan.

–Damn you and the rest! But this is not the end I shall return from the hells. Stonger and more powerful than ever. I will get rid of white magic and I’ll rule the magical world. I curse you and all the white wizards, my curse will bring me back to life and I will have my revenge. I shall fulfill my word…This is my curse– Kukulcan swore. The sky turned gray and tempestuous
–Hocus pocus bocus mortus tilitus jokus– he pronounced. A red mass surrounded Joerend. The smoke was asphyxiating him. He could see nothing but Kukulcan’s ghost fading away, until it completely vanished. Joerend felt cold blood running trough his veins, his heart stopped beating then blood stop circulating. The last thing that crossed his mind was: I wish I could stop him, he will come back and I won’t be here to defeat him. I wish my master were here and told me what to do, but no, he has been murdered– He gasped . The last thing his lips pronounced was: By the power the magic has bestowed upon me, I swear…– He couldn’t finish and at last he died.

This was legendary battle. There was no wizard in the magical who ignored what had happened that day at dawn.

The Magical World recovered. But many things that were not supposed to be forgotten were. Blissphilum, the perfect city disappeared. Everything that once existed in there, (temples, relics, books and magical devices) vanished along with it. White City was never rebuilt and its ruins were forgotten as everything that was kept within there.

Kukulcan and Joerend’s last words left great doubt hanging in the magical community. For one side, everyone feared the return of Kukulcan the damned. On the other side, they wanted to know what had Joerend intended to promise before dying. Until one day, not a very special one, the Niwans revealed Joerend’s intended promise. In the Sun Pyramid they carved and drew the hieroglyphics which changed the magical world destiny forever.
“By the power the magic has bestowed upon me, I swear that Kukulcan shall be defeated. Forever, this time. A unique wizard able to defeat him will be born and I will help him”
The hieroglyphics read:

By the phoenix’s song he shall be announced
by nature he shall be recognized
For him shall weep the stars
But as in all good, evil will come along
hand in hand

Not only did the magic scientists found this hieroglyphics, but they found too that the Niwan civilization abandoned all their temples. Leaving behind the table served, the home fire burning, and not a single hint from them.

The news was spread quickly throughout the magical world. Filling the people with joy. Waiting the one day they will finally stop fearing Kukulcan’s return to power.

Years passed. Kukulcan never came back and the one able to defeat him was never born. The magical world forgot what had happened and with the passing of time, most of them began to believe it fantasy and myth. As the history told.

Still there were some who didn’t believed that. Kukulcan’s followers, fewer this time, awaited anxiously for the arrival of his master, and the supposed birth of the child. Determined to kill him as soon as he was born.

Years went by and the magical world evolved.

Until one of the last days of September at the hospital of the capital city Fantasia, an amazing event occurred at 00:00 am on September 29th. An Eclipse turned the sky from night to day for a few seconds, while a mother gave birth. It is said that when the boy was delivered a phoenix crossed the sky high above the hospital, singing and lightning the already darkened firmament. After the song and the flight of the phoenix, the baby cried for the very first time, leading a golden arch to gleam over the hospital.
At the hospital window a young man with curly hair was watching Nature’s performance until a second cry was heard. The golden arch disappeared and the night was invaded by gray clouds, thunders and lightning. The young man withdrew from the window. The sky remained gloomy for a few seconds and then the sky became still as if nothing had happened.
At the hospital door, a strange carriage pulled by two unicorns arrived. From it descended a a tall, bearded man with long white hair, wearing a blue robe. He entered the principal door and closed it. Few minutes later he returned followed by a couple which was inconspicuous in the dark. He opened the door and they entered the carriage leaving the storm behind them in a hurry.
When the carriage entered the city, a group of trolls appeared from nowhere to chase it; throwing their spears attempting to stop it. A blue fire ball flew out from the carriage knocking them down . The carriage turned invisible and remained like that until it stopped in front of a house inside a private in which the carriage turned visible again. The couple and the wizard descended from it and entered the house. They stayed there until late at night. Finally the couple left their home. The beautiful lady, still pale for delivering, holding in her arms a baby wrapped in a blue blanket. They got in a car and flew away from the house.

Prologue

Here's the Prologue from Joe and The Black Dragon Legend in English. ( Special Thanks to my friend Donna Lansing who helped me correcting it)

Prologue

Earth was created, due to the evilness found there, God decided to create a new world, similar to the earth. However its inhabitants were given supernatural magic powers. Everyone there lived in harmony. The races of this new world got along in peacefully in equality.

The Dwarves, were the mine workers and the managers of this world’s resources and riches. Their powers, extended as far as levitation, magical excavation and axe handling.

The Malgien, were one the most powerful and wisest of all the inhabitants of Fantasia; protectors of the forest, the wizards and the magic world. They were forbidden to intervene in wizard’s affairs, and were rarely seen by one of them.

The Tritons and the Mermaids, inhabitants of the magical water world. Its supreme being Triton, king of Sirenia, had the ability to control rivers, lakes and seas at will. He was the Lord of the Oceans.

The Morphins, small talkative animals were created to serve wizards joyfully. They were capable of performing any activity and never complained about it.

The Gnomes, were little beings between eight and sixteen inches tall. They were the workers of the land and handlers of the magical cattle.

The Fairies, as the Malgien, were protectors of the wizards. Each fairy was given a wizard to protect.

The small fairies had largely insignificant magical powers; they were the underground inhabitants of the giant mushrooms and danced by the light of the moon.

The Elves, were clever beings; possessors of the ability to make objects vanish temporarily; mischief-makers dedicated to annoying the wizards.

And finally, Wizards, those gifted with the grace of Magic.

Just as in earth, the tinniest evil spark ignited wickedness. The most powerful demon of the seven hells, Satan, gave extraordinary powers to seven wizards in exchange for their souls.

He gifted Poseidon with the control of waters, giving him powers which surpassed those of Triton’s, the Lord of the Oceans. Aeolo, Master of the Draughts, was given the power to control the air.. Chronus was offered the ability to control the time at will. Hades, ruled over the dead. He gambled with death as if it were merely a game. Tearth was made landlord of the grounds, he had power over the grounds and soils. And finally Athena better known as Atenea, the only woman who decided to sell her soul to the devil. Unlike the others she didn’t ask for power, she asked for a gift. The most outstanding gift of all: Wisdom.

Never again would a soul be the same after being possessed by the devil. With the pact of these seven wizards, The Dark Era in the magic world began. And death came by evil and by good. The Seven Evils started gathering followers, raising witches, and sorcerers; feeling like gods.

Half of most of the magic world was destroyed. They controlled everything. If someone dared to face them, Hades would have cut the string of their lives and they would die.
But, she rebelled, Atenea. She was unable to beat them. Her mistake was not having asked for magical powers such as the others.. Even though they fought as hard as they could; immortal as she was, she could not be killed. So. she was locked up on Daed Island, where she was guarded by Hades until the end.

They reached their glory, but it came hand in hand with their doom. Three powerful Malgien sacrificed their lives in a powerful spell called “The Sleeping Death”. Five of the Seven Evils were trapped in their temple forever. The temple was sealed with a magical charm that only one single wand could break. The wand was hidden, to be found later.
Hades and Atenea perished on the island. Hades was locked in a crypt, “The Crypt of Death”. The devil collected their souls and took them to hell, where they now belonged.

Without the seven evils, the Magic World turned back to its normal state. Still the seed of evil had been planted. And it grew slowly but strongly. Waiting to be sowed.

Little by little everything was rebuilt. New cities were formed: Blissphilum, “the indestructible city”. It was also known as the perfect city. Built and designed by the best architects of the Magic world. Its secrets await now to be discovered. The second, White City the former capital of the magical world; nowadays lying in ruins. Also two new cultures appeared. The Niwans, wise and powerful, seers of the future and The Masters and Mistresses, wise protectors of nature, but less powerful than the Niwans.

Time passed and the Magic World returned to the way it used to be before evilness spread throughout it. The tragedy once experienced was forgotten. It was recorded as history, and from history it passed to story, from story to legend, until it remained a simple mythology; “The Magical Mythology”

Hundreds of years passed until the evil fruit was sown, grew and ripened...

Narrative Statement

Here's the essay I wrote to get into the Master's Program at the New York film Academy. I still haven't gotten anwer yet, but i'm hoping and praying to get in!

Narrative Statement

As far as I remember, I have always been interested in story telling. When I was a child I always loved watching movies. In my imagination I could go to all those fantastic places that movies can take you. I began to grow up and my interest for story telling grew, too. I began writing short stories in my notebooks while I was in Elementary school. When I was in Junior High School I wanted to write a movie screenplay and send it to a Film Company so they would make a movie out of it. I was so naive. I never wrote.
It wasn’t until High School when I started writing again. I took a piece of paper and did a brain storm of ideas I could use to write a book. I had so many ideas in a matter of minutes that I had enough material for several books . I finished my first novel when I was 16 years old. A novel of fiction and fantasy that was my escape from everyday life problems. I finished my second novel when I was 17 years old and my third one when I was 19. It started as a hobby but then it became a necessity. I can not go long without writing .
I knew that making movies was expensive and something I could not do at that time, but writing stories was something free that just required my time and imagination. However, inside me, was the desire to take all of my stories to the big screen. That desire and actual need, has only gotten stronger. I’m hoping to transform the characters who now live only in my imagination, into moving images.
I believe every human is born with a “gift”. Some are born with an impressive ability to play soccer, others are excellent swimmers or have an angelic voice. If somebody asked me what mine is, I would say that it is my imagination. I can make a story out of almost anything. I like this gift and I wouldn’t change it for another.
I finished high school when I was 17. Now it was time to decide what I wanted to study. “Film making” I decided. I love to write stories But I love even more when those stories are told with film images and can even more make you feel a part of the story as If you were living it. I love movies that make you forget that they are films; that make you experience and empathize with what the character is feeling; virtually become part of the story. These great films make you forget about reality for 90 or 100 minutes. Even after having seen them, they live on in your mind and keep you thinking about what you have seen and felt. They open your heart and mind and when they are really good they set fire to your ideas and inspire passion in their audience. I can continue to see, hear and feel moments that were powerful in these films, for hours, days, sometimes years after I have seen them.
I was told to study something else first and then my dad would pay for film school. If that was the price I had to pay to study what I really wanted to do, what I love to do, then It was something I was willing to do.
That’s one of the main reasons I want to attend the New York Film Academy. I don’t want to use another 4-5 years of my life studying filmmaking when there’s this hands-on master who will give me the knowledge I need to have, to be able to direct/write quality films.
Back in 2005 I attended the 4 weeks film making workshop in Orlando, Florida and I simply loved it. It convinced me even more, that film is what I want to do for the rest of my life. And the New York Film Academy is where I want to learn the basics to do it. I fell in love with the whole process.
I admire many film makers, but particularly Steven Spielberg. He has proved that he is not only a successful commercial director, but that he can also make very profound movies. He is one of my favorite directors. But perhaps, even more than he, I admire the Hispanic and Latin film makers like Alfonso Cuaron and Guillermo del Toro because no matter what their citizenship, they have proved that Mexicans, too, can create great films and become world reknowned in this most fascinating of mediums. I would like to be like them. They inspire me.
I would love to make movies that touch people in the same way that some movies have touched me. I have many ideas that would make perfect screenplays. It is not that Hollywood screenplays are bad, but I believe that they could be better. I feel that they can still make a lot of money and at the same time make movies with depth as well as entertainment value. I see my self in the future writing and directing quality films and becoming a recognized film maker.
The reason I chose the Master in Film Arts program is that I know it is more challenging than the other programs you offer and that is what I need. I need to challenge my self. I need to breathe, eat and dream of film-making. I am committed to doing whatever it takes to become a successful and accomplished filmmaker. I hope you give me this opportunity. With your help and the knowledge and experience that I can gain through your program, I want and need to make magic onscreen; to inspire, move and entertain others with my dreams.

Joe and the Black dragon Legend

Not Is time to talk to you a little bit about my first book. Joe Y la Leyenda del Dragón Negro. (Joe and the Black Dragon Legend)…. I started writing it when I was 15 years old and finished when I was 16. It took me about 2 years. I remember I had always liked writing but I never wrote that much of a novel, just short stories.
One day I decided to take a piece of paper and did a brain storm of ideas and I had several, actually. Enough to write many books. I decided to split the story in 8 parts.
Joe and the Black Dragon Legend
Joe and the Everlasting Night
The Dark love
The sleeping city
Joe and The Island of the Death
The Niwans mistery
Joe and The magic Mithology
And….the last one “untitled”
I began writing the book. I wrote as If I were a witness of the story and were telling somebody else what happened. I outlined the novel, but I wrote as I was writing…I knew what It was going to happened but not how it was actually going to happened. I had a lot of fun writing the novel. I can still remember the songs that would inspire me and How I couldn’t wait to finish it and start writing the second part.

When I got to the last chapters of the novel. I had a kind of writer’s block. And guess what? The ending of the book (If you read if. From the part they get to the Dark Castle to the ending) It all occurred to me in a dream. Same time happened with the book I’m actually writing “The sleeping city” . The whole concept occurred to me in that world where everything can happen.
I finished the book. I was just 16 and I had never been good at grammar nor spelling. So You can imagine my novel. I was full of mistakes. I “Tried” to correct it and then sent it to CBH books (www.cbhbooks.com) A co-editorial enterprise. The answer I got said something like this:

There’s no doubt you have talent, but You still need to work in your novel. You have to rewrite this, change that, delete there.
I remember I got really depressed. It was as if I had waken up from the magical world. I wanted to delete my novel from the computer and pretend I had never had written it. Thank God my friends kept me from doing it. I got over it and continued writing my second novel. “Joe and The everlasting Night” It was then when I decided to shorten the story to 6 books.
Joe and the Black Dragon Legend. Joe and The Everlasting Night. The Dark love. The Sleeping city. Joe and the Magic Mythology. And the last one, still untitled. ( I’m still thinking in many different possible names)
I wasn’t until I started writing my third novel (The Dark Love) When I started correcting the 1st one. I sent it again the same co-editorial and guess what? I got accepted this time! I was so happy!!! The rest is history… Here I leave you with the synopsis from editorial.

In Joe y la leyenda del dragón negro, the author describes a magical world—a place similar to planet Earth—, which is in grave danger. An evil wizard named Kukulcan, who had been defeated by the white magic of Joerend, has sworn to return to rule and destroy this beautiful world. The appearance of the legendary Black Dragon would mark the beginning of this terrible deed. Despite the fear instilled by this promise in the inhabitants of the magical world, they are hopeful because of a prediction made by Joerend: A magician more powerful than Kukulcan would be born to eliminate evil once and for all. The wizards awaiting the arrival of Kukulcan are ready to destroy this infant, whose birth would be announced by the Phoenix. When the child is young, his parents take him to Earth where he would be safe. Who would have thought that Joe, the boy from London who was always fascinated by magic, was the boy predicted to save the magical world? A mysterious door and a mirror that does not reflect come together to help Joe discover his powers. (AVAILABLE IN SPANISH ONLY) José Cardona González, a talented young writer, was born in San Luis Potosí, Mexico on September 29, 1986. He is the oldest of three brothers. His interest in literature began when he decided to create a world where everything people imagined would be real and not just pure fiction. At the age of 16, he finished writing Joe y la leyenda del Dragón Negro (CBHBooks, 2006), the first part of this magical story. He immediately began writing the second part of the story titled, La maldición: Joe y la noche eterna. He has already finished the third book in the series: El amor oscuro. He is currently writing the fourth book, titled, La ciudad dormida. Cardona González is a student of Business Administration at the Tecnológico de Monterrey. Upon graduating, he would like to study film, and specialize in direction and screenwriting in order to bring this story to the big screen one day.

I combined a lot of elements from Fantasy, mythology from all around the world, including Mexican.

Here’s the cover.

Quote of the week

"Love is like Magic. It finishes when the enchantment ends"

Arrancame la vida

Arrancame la vida. “Take my life” is a movie based on the novel by the Mexican reporter Angeles Mastrett. Is a story of love, politics and treason in Mexico back in the 30’s. I haven’t read the book, so I can not compare it to the movie, but I must say that the story is deep.
It is the Mexican movie with the highest budget in the story of Mexican movies. Ana Claudia is one of the best Mexican actresses and she shows her acting skills in that movie. The photography is amazing and so is the acting and the music. I fell in love with the song “Arrancame la Vida” You can close your eyes and take you back into time when movies where black and white…
The story happens in Mexico, when a 15 year old girl marries a Tenant from the Mexican Army, who is trying to become Governor of the city of Puebla. He is, of course, 30 years older than her and she is just to naïve that fells for maturity…But there’ll be a point where she’ll be mature enough to realize that He is not what she wants…
It is a story of how love can be deceiving and a story about how it can easily ends when it is not fed and the charms ends. It shows how people can be submissive just to keep their life and their beloved ones. It shows how marriage used to be in Mexico not so long ago…How women have to subordinate to what their husband said and commanded. It is a really complex story. I guess is taken more profound in the book.

I can’ t imagine living a life “ faking” to be happy all the time and not be with the one you really love. And What is love according to that movie? Is when a kiss can take your life away and steal your heart…. And when you are not with that person, meaning to be fully with that person, You can’t be completely happy….you can fake, but you faking doesn’t give happiness …
It shows there’s always light at the end of the tunnel, But you are responsible for how long the tunnel is and how long it will take You to see the light…you can run to get there faster or walk slowly and then stop in the middle of darkness forever…It is up to you…
Just go and see the movie! You’ll love it!

Beginning of a future novel...

A while a go. May be 3 years ago I was surfing the internet looking for the rules to write a book or something like that…I found a guide of how to write a bestseller…I got the first instructions for free and followed them. I had to use one of this following words and start writing using one of them. “Fire. Certainty or Clock” and then I had to used the other two words in that same paragraph.

I had only five minutes to write what I could and then stop and send it to the tutor. Here’s what I thought

Fire was burning when suddenly the clock rang, telling the person that lived in that house that it was time to do it. He had the certainty that it was time to do it. There was no turning back, the time had arrived. He took the gun, and put the letter he had been writing in an envelope and sealed the envelope with a wax seal. He went out of the house and put the letter in the mail, he returned home and with the gun still in his hand, he pointed it right into his head, he was ready to shoot when the bell rang…there was someone at the door.
“are you there? The voice of a girl asked. He was sweating and hesitating whether to commit suicide or not. The bell rang again, he put the gun in his pocket and walked toward the door.
He opened the door and the beautiful brunet girl asked: “Are you ok?”- She entered the house even when he didn’t ask her to come in.
“i had a terrible feeling about you…What happened in here? Why is everything so messy?

Here what the online teacher said:

Jose, Outstanding!
Now that’s the kind of writing that can easily be turned into a book! It grabs your interest right at the beginning and keeps going. The reader just has to ask, “What happens next to him?”
But don’t take my word for it. Take this bit of writing and show it to your friends. I have a feeling they’ll frankly tell you the same thing. Tell me, what did you think after you had written the piece? Did you think it would be that good, or that straightforward?

And Yes…I have in mind what is next after that and someday It’ll become a completed novel.

A Vampiric Story....

Twilight by Stephanie Meyer
I finished reading this book yesterday’s night. I really didn’t know this book existed, until I finished reading Wicked and was looking for something else to read. I was in Wal-Mart and saw this book, then I remembered I had seen a movie poster with the same name. I read the back of the book…Well, there wasn’t much to learn about the story on the back, but It was enough to gain my attention :

There’s 3 things I’m certainly sure:
First, Edward is a vampire
Second, a part of him is dying to drink my blood.
Third, I’m totally madly in love with him….
The first chapter made me fell in love with the book. I just wanted to keep reading and reading….I couldn’t wait for the time where she’d found out He was a vampire and I couldn’t wait for the moment She would fall in love with him and by the time that happened I realized it was as in the real life, is a process that takes little by little…The love story is amazing and very sweet. I would even dare to say is perfect. Except for the fact that She will eventually die and He will live for eternity crying her death…
I would love to fall in love like that . Love somebody like Edward loves Bella and be loved like Bella loves Edward…There’s moments where you wonder if its real or not…The vampire theme is handled with such perfection that You can even think there’s vampires between us. (I wouldn’t mind being a vampire myself ;) )
Perhaps the fact that makes the book so real is that it seems as if You were reading Bellas Diary and as everything happens in real places, You wonder if that story really happened in that small town names Forks.
The book will take you from the tears to laughter and then to suspense…There was a point in the story where I felt kind of scared after I closed it and was off to bed…I’ve always liked vampire stories and this, I consider it as my favorite. I can’t wait to see the movie nor to start reading the second part of the story “ New moon”

Missing You...

This is my last project from the 4 week filmmaking workshop I took back in the summer of the year 2005. Here we had to either make a montage or a music video. I opted for a combination of both. I heard the song used in the video before going to Orlando, Florida and I really liked it. I remember I would listen to the song many times on my 4 GB first generation ipod and I would write ideas for it ( I had to eliminate a lot of them because I didn’t have a budget to accomplish them)
The Idea I had for the video included many more cuts and it was a kind of a different story, but guess what? The Day I had to shoot my project was the same day a hurricane passed over Orlando, so We had a really big storm that afternoon ( In the shot of the couple taking a picture in front of a fountain, You can see the trees moving with such a strength in the background) So I had to change all the outdoor shots for indoor shots and I had to think for a different ending. I don’t know how I t would have come out with the original story, but I kind of like the result with this ending ( Which was basically what changed)

There’s a lot of things I would change now, but well…It was one of the first things I did on video with a very low budget. Basically my budget was only the money I spent on the 16mm film and the processing of it.
Here it is…I hope you like it….I LOVE TELLING STORIES WITH FILMS!!!

Blurry Future

The foreseeable future for me is Blurry… The only thing I know is that I’m going to California next year to study filmmaking. I feel like when You wake up and open your eyes, everything seems blurry for a few seconds, then everything seems clear. This time is the same, except that It wont’ seem clear to me until I hear from the New York Film Academy. If they accept me into the Master in the Film Arts program (Which I’m praying and hoping to happen) , Then In less than 4 months I will be in California all by my self ( Yes I can hear that Celine’s song again) if not, I’ll be in California in about 7 months, ready to start the 2 year conservatory program.
I’m sending in my application for the Film Arts Master tomorrow and I’ll let you know when the future starts seeing clear…

A summer where dreams were born back in 2005...

Since I remember what I wanted to be in life. I remember I wanted to write movies ( Screenplays), novels or to direct/ act in movies. Well… Acting is just not for me as far as I know.

I intended to write a Screenplay when I was in Junior high School, but that didn’t happened.
During College I started writing novels ( I’ll tell you about this in another post really soon! Promise!) Then It came the time when I had to decided what I wanted to study. “director” I thought. “film making” I started looking for schools. There’s one in Mexico, City…But it didn’t convince me. I found many in the US. But I found one in particular where the course was just 1 to 2 years long. I told my father about it and He told me that if I studied something normal first He would pay the film school for me. Something normal...mmm…Business Management! My dad has a business so I thought that would be normal enough for him. I started college and during my second semester I asked my dad How possible it would be for me to take a summer film making course that year? (Back in 2005) He said “100% possible”. That was in January! I applied to the school. I got accepted. I paid and then those 6 months flied by! When I less thought of it, I was in Mexico City taking an airplane to Orlando, Florida. They recommended me to read a book, which I read entirely before going to Orlando, Florida.
The New York Film Academy is characterized by its Hand on philosophy. That’s what call my attention when I was decided where to study. Also, songs of the biggest film maker have studied there. Like the son of my god Steven Spielberg and the son of Price Bronnan. They have summer courses all over the world, but I chose Florida because of Disney world and because some of the classes are held in the Disney MGM Studios (today known as The Disney Hollywood studios).

Marissa and I on the shot of "Backlash in the media is for $%&holes

I got there and my plane was delayed so I missed the registration process. I chose to have a roommate. We stayed at the All stars Music Hotel. I had a lot of luck my roommate was nice. Weird but nice. His name is James (I haven’t heard from him since the program ended) The following day I did not know what to do because I didn’t have a schedule. I went to have breakfast . My first Mickey waffle. But I was too nervous that I couldn’t’ eat it. I got my student Id and then we took a van to where the classes were going to be held that day. “The Saratoga Springs Hotel”. I was to scared of not understanding the classes as it was my first time in the US all by my self. ( I can listen to that Celine’s Dion song in my head right now) Thank God I understood almost all. The classes were really cool. That same first day of class We were using the cameras loading the film.
I meet really good friends there. We divided ourselves into groups of 3. The crew where will be working every weekend to film our projects. My Crew was formed by Ashley Kelly from Pittsburg and Vicki Koval from Orlando. I love them! It was really fun working with them. The first weekend We had to shoot a short film in just one shot. ( the one I uploaded here a couple of weeks ago) I was so nervous of how it was going to come out. Light gave a hard time the whole course. It’s kind of complicated to measure it and know What it’s going to be lit and not. Well…it’s not complicated, it just requires time and patient. And well… a couple of fingers burned by those 1000 watts lights! That weekend I meet someone form another course. Her name is Cristina Davo. She was great! She and I went to church on Sundays! And We hang out in the MGM studios theme park !

Everyday We learned something new from film making. The continuity lesson was really interesting. And that was our second week project. The one you saw. “Love at first assault”
Then the third week we had to shoot our final project. I told you more about his project in another post and also will post the project.
I also meet a very special persona to me. I didn’t not get to work with her. But up to now I still keep in touch with her. Her name is Yennis Martin from Venezuela.
It was an unforgettable experience. When It ended I felt I had happened so fast!
If you are interested in films but not know if it is what You want to do in life. I’d recommend this summer workshop. It helped me to convince myself Films is what I want to do in my life. Story telling is something I love and that really passionate me!

A star on the rise...

He is my younger brother. He looks older than me, though… He is 20 years old and He’s been playing the guitar since He was 9 or so… He has always been very good. He is one of those who really has a talent for it. I don’t know much about music, as I mentioned before, but He can play every single song on the guitar by just listening to it once or twice. Even the great songs by the best guitar players like Santana or Gary Moore.
He is studying music at Berklee music College in Boston and since then He’s become even better!
Here’s one my favorite songs He plays: Still got the blues. The original song has sung lyrics by Gary Moore, but He make the notes out of the sung part for his guitar version.
Here it goes.

Here’s his guitar version of “Let it be”

You probably know this one. It was a big hit by Santana and Rob Thomas many years ago. Corazón espinado.

And here’s another song by a Guitar God “Steve Vai” so…isn’t my brother good at this? Visit his myspace http://www.myspace.com/ocg1988
