again, Thnx to Donna Lansing for the correction.
So it begins...
There were two young men. One tough, one gentle. and both were half Wizard. One half Niwan, one half Malgien. Both were trained by the most powerful and wise Wizard of the Magical Word. Zcardus. One was Cankul. One was Joerend. And even when both learned the same and acquired equal abilities, one day Cankul left. And no one, not even when her mother died, knew what happened with him.
Years passed and Joerend became one of the strongest and most powerful Wizards along with Zcardus. Until one not very special year, Cankul reappeared with a new name. Dominant over them all Kukulcan (which meant Serpent Man in Niwan tongue). Not only his physic but his mind had changed too. Contrary to everybody’s ideas, his were mean. He believed in the awakening of Eviles and even thought he didn’t know how to achieve it, he was determined to do it. And this changed completely the Magical World.
He started gathering followers. If someone dared to intervene. Kukulcan killed the unfortunate immediately . He ruled over the Trolls, the Fawcets and the Boogerers, mean creatures of the Magical World. And he enslaved the Morphins in order to build a hut, a castle and a temple. They worked hard for him. The castle was built way inside the magic forest. The hut in a dark community on the east of the Magical World. The temple was built too, but it was never finished. Why did he built a hut a castle and a temple? The reason is still unknown.
After searching it thoroughly Kukulcan finally found Daed Island where Hades and Atenea rested. However he knew he wouldn’t be able to find the temple of the gods, where the other five rested. Unless he found first a special book which dated from time remote. A book that told the true story of the Magical World. The Popol–Vuh.
–Well, Joerend. The future of the magical world depends on you– Zcardus, an slim old man with ashy long hair, told him. They were in a very antique room inside Zcardus’ castle.
–But if he doesn’t find the temple of the Gods first, he would never be able to bring back the Eviles– Joerend answered. His curly hair was up to the shoulder, he was six feet tall and kind of tough.
–Unless we do something fast, he will. He had already destroyed Blissphilum and he’ll be here soon if you don’t prevent it–
–He did?– asked Joerend, amazed.
–He almost did, remember that perfect city can’t be destroyed. Not by a common simple wizard, at least– the old man answered.
–But I…I don’t know what to do– He said puzzled.
–Use your knowledge. You more than anyone else know him well–
–I used to. Now he is a monster
–Even the biggest and most powerful monster has, at least, one weakness
–Zcardus…–
–Yes, Joerend?
–I’m afraid
–Fear, boy, is the uncertainty to the unknown and after all is nothing but a feeling
answered Zcardus.
–Then, I’m afraid of what will happen..–
–You are afraid of what will happen if you fail!– A voice coming from nowhere was heard.
–Who said that?– asked Joerend, scared, turning his head to each corner of the room.
–This is and old castle. You shouldn’t’ mind voices you don’t know where they come from– told Zcardus to him, standing up from the couch and walking towards Joerend.
–But the voice is right…I am afraid of what will happen if I fail
–The future is uncertain, Joerend. But sometimes it’s in you the possibility to change it for better of for worse. Just be sure of your deeds and trust that it will be the right thing for everyone– told him Zcardus, placing his bony hand over Joerend’s shoulder.
–Still... I’m afraid– added Joerend turning around to face his mentor.
Zcardus closed his eyes and keep them shut for a while. In his mind he saw Kukulcan approaching to White City. He opened his eyes quickly and told Joerend:
–Here he comes, go, GO NOW!–
–Bu…bu…b…– stuttered Joerend.
–There’s time for nothing. Go now! Wait for him at the Coliseum.
–But what about you?– he asked while Zcardus pushed him out of he room. Taking him trough a secret magically opened passage.
–I’ll be safe here
–He knows you are the most powerful wizard that has ever existed. Surely he’ll kill you
–I will never abandon the castle. I swear –He rose one hand over Joerend’s head and told him: May the magic protect you– At last he pushed him and close the secret passage.
The secret passage was cold and dark, Joerend’s breath could be seen. He took his wand out of his pocket and whispered Lux. The tip of his wand lighted. Revealing Joerend a never–ending tunnel. Rocks, rats, and corpses were scattered all over the place. He walked slowly, thinking about what he had been told by Zcardus. The voice was right, he was afraid of what could happen if he failed. Joerend found himself unwilling to reach the end of the corridor. He didn’t want to know how will everything end up. He walked slowly. Feeling cold and doubtful.
Finally, he glimpsed a ray of light at the end of the tunnel. He walked faster. Decided to face his future. He knew that as soon as he came out of the tunnel, he would face his truth. A thruth which couldn’t be changed by anyone but him.
At the end his destiny awaited. He walked, decided, moving aside the stone that covered the exit and the first thing his eyes saw was the Coliseum in ruins. He hoped that only the Coliseum was destroyed. He jumped and raised to the sky. From above he realized the entire White City was completely destroyed. Seeing this, he felt his blood boiling inside and yelled: KUKULCAN!– His voice echoed trough the sky.
Not far from him there was an explosion from which appeared Kukulcan.
–Did you call me?– he asked with a cool sharp voice.
–Why have you done this?–
–It was necessary. I offer my most sincere apologies.– he answered sarcastically.
–This people were innocent and you…you killed them– added Joerend feeling angrier.
–Well, they seemed reluctant to surrender. It was necessary to kill them–
–Did you kill them all?–
–Yes, all of them. Not even a single survivor–
Joerend was furious. He rose his wand, pointed it a him, and yelled:
–DOLORUS!– From the tip of his wand a red sparkle sprouted towards Kukulcan.
–Hahaha…is this what that jerk of Zcardus taught you?–He told him between laughter. Joerend snarled, he aimed his wand at Kukulcan and yelled:
–ABRA CADABRA– Kukulcan was shot and fell to the floor. However he stood up without a single scratch and told him:
–You will need much more than in order to defeat me
–HOCUS!– Kukulcan shouted.
Joerend flew trough the air and collided with a destroyed wall of the coliseum.
–My dear fellow and friend, Joerend. Consider this for a moment. We would wake up the Eviles and force them to obey us. We could rule Fantasia. We could control the Magical World. Fire, Earth, Water and Air would be under our command. We would be feared and obeyed. Then the universe will be ours. The most powerful beings over the universe. You and Me. Together. So what’s your choice? Power or death?.–
–I’ll rather die a thousand deaths than join you– he answered rising from the dust.
–Ha. Stupid! Naive! You talk nonsense!. But if that’s your choice. Let it be then. Kanah, Kanah– called Kukulcan.
Trough a destroyed door of the coliseum a huge, black and red stripped serpent appeared. Joerend stood up, release his wand letting it fall to the floor and closed his eyes firmly.
–If you tell me where’s The Mystic Eye you will have a quick painless death. Otherwise you will suffer a slow painful death…am I right, Kanah?– The serpent hissed.
Joerend didn’t answered, not even single thought crossed his head.
–I searched for it in Zcardus’ Castle after I killed him, yet I couldn’t find it. You must know where it is. What’s your choice? The slow–painful or the quick painless–death. One…two…–Kukulcan started counting.
–WAIT!!!!!! I’ll tell you– said Joerend opening his eyes.
–OH! I see you are willing to help…that’s smart–
–ANGELAXUS!!– yelled Joerend extending his arms and the palms of his hands to the front. A mass of blue rays surrounded Kukulcan exploiting afterwards. From it emerged the ghost of Kukulcan.
–Damn you and the rest! But this is not the end I shall return from the hells. Stonger and more powerful than ever. I will get rid of white magic and I’ll rule the magical world. I curse you and all the white wizards, my curse will bring me back to life and I will have my revenge. I shall fulfill my word…This is my curse– Kukulcan swore. The sky turned gray and tempestuous
–Hocus pocus bocus mortus tilitus jokus– he pronounced. A red mass surrounded Joerend. The smoke was asphyxiating him. He could see nothing but Kukulcan’s ghost fading away, until it completely vanished. Joerend felt cold blood running trough his veins, his heart stopped beating then blood stop circulating. The last thing that crossed his mind was: I wish I could stop him, he will come back and I won’t be here to defeat him. I wish my master were here and told me what to do, but no, he has been murdered– He gasped . The last thing his lips pronounced was: By the power the magic has bestowed upon me, I swear…– He couldn’t finish and at last he died.
This was legendary battle. There was no wizard in the magical who ignored what had happened that day at dawn.
The Magical World recovered. But many things that were not supposed to be forgotten were. Blissphilum, the perfect city disappeared. Everything that once existed in there, (temples, relics, books and magical devices) vanished along with it. White City was never rebuilt and its ruins were forgotten as everything that was kept within there.
Kukulcan and Joerend’s last words left great doubt hanging in the magical community. For one side, everyone feared the return of Kukulcan the damned. On the other side, they wanted to know what had Joerend intended to promise before dying. Until one day, not a very special one, the Niwans revealed Joerend’s intended promise. In the Sun Pyramid they carved and drew the hieroglyphics which changed the magical world destiny forever.
“By the power the magic has bestowed upon me, I swear that Kukulcan shall be defeated. Forever, this time. A unique wizard able to defeat him will be born and I will help him”
The hieroglyphics read:
By the phoenix’s song he shall be announced
by nature he shall be recognized
For him shall weep the stars
But as in all good, evil will come along
hand in hand
Not only did the magic scientists found this hieroglyphics, but they found too that the Niwan civilization abandoned all their temples. Leaving behind the table served, the home fire burning, and not a single hint from them.
The news was spread quickly throughout the magical world. Filling the people with joy. Waiting the one day they will finally stop fearing Kukulcan’s return to power.
Years passed. Kukulcan never came back and the one able to defeat him was never born. The magical world forgot what had happened and with the passing of time, most of them began to believe it fantasy and myth. As the history told.
Still there were some who didn’t believed that. Kukulcan’s followers, fewer this time, awaited anxiously for the arrival of his master, and the supposed birth of the child. Determined to kill him as soon as he was born.
Years went by and the magical world evolved.
Until one of the last days of September at the hospital of the capital city Fantasia, an amazing event occurred at 00:00 am on September 29th. An Eclipse turned the sky from night to day for a few seconds, while a mother gave birth. It is said that when the boy was delivered a phoenix crossed the sky high above the hospital, singing and lightning the already darkened firmament. After the song and the flight of the phoenix, the baby cried for the very first time, leading a golden arch to gleam over the hospital.
At the hospital window a young man with curly hair was watching Nature’s performance until a second cry was heard. The golden arch disappeared and the night was invaded by gray clouds, thunders and lightning. The young man withdrew from the window. The sky remained gloomy for a few seconds and then the sky became still as if nothing had happened.
At the hospital door, a strange carriage pulled by two unicorns arrived. From it descended a a tall, bearded man with long white hair, wearing a blue robe. He entered the principal door and closed it. Few minutes later he returned followed by a couple which was inconspicuous in the dark. He opened the door and they entered the carriage leaving the storm behind them in a hurry.
When the carriage entered the city, a group of trolls appeared from nowhere to chase it; throwing their spears attempting to stop it. A blue fire ball flew out from the carriage knocking them down . The carriage turned invisible and remained like that until it stopped in front of a house inside a private in which the carriage turned visible again. The couple and the wizard descended from it and entered the house. They stayed there until late at night. Finally the couple left their home. The beautiful lady, still pale for delivering, holding in her arms a baby wrapped in a blue blanket. They got in a car and flew away from the house.
